Privacy policy
Gentry: Require PO Numbers (“the app”) is a Shopify app provided by Zachery Gentry. This policy explains what the app collects when a merchant installs it, and how that data is used and deleted. Last updated October 16, 2026.
What the app stores
- Your shop’s domain and access token, which Shopify issues on install so the app can turn the checkout rule on and save its settings.
- Your plan: which of the app’s plans the shop is on, its trial end date and when it was last checked, read from Shopify.
The rule settings you save (messages, PO formats and exceptions) are stored in your own Shopify store, as metafields, not on the app’s servers.
What the app doesn’t store
The app stores no personal information about your customers or staff. At checkout, the rule runs inside Shopify and reads only what it needs to decide whether to block the order: the PO number, the company and location the order is for, the checkout step and the buyer’s language. None of this is sent to or kept by the app.
How the data is used
Only to run the app: to set up and manage the checkout rule, and to unlock the features of your plan. The data isn’t sold, shared with third parties, or used for advertising.
Where it’s kept
On servers and a database hosted by Render (render.com) in the United States. Server logs record request paths and status codes, not the content of requests.
Deletion
When you uninstall the app, its access to your store ends and your plan record is deleted. Shopify then asks the app to erase the shop’s data (48 hours after uninstall), and the app deletes everything it holds for the shop. Because the app stores no customer data, customer data requests have nothing to return.
Contact
For questions about this policy or your data, use the support contact on the app’s Shopify App Store listing.
